Salt of the Earth
As I write this, this iconic stallion may have literally, lost his freedom.
Salt Wells is known for having some of the healthiest, chunkiest and hardiest horses around. They are resilient, strong survivors of some of the harshest elements one could endure. These horses thrive here. The area is also known for a concentrated population of the rare "Curly" horses.
The ongoing Wyoming wipeout of 2021 is underway. Wyoming is determined to erase their wild horses, even thought the state uses them as a symbol to attract tourism.
The Salt Wells Wild Horse area is 1.2 million acres of land, yet they continue to decimate these iconic creatures from their home territory.
